Collingwood Registered Massage Therapy

Meet Amanda

Amanda has always called small towns home, which naturally drew her to Collingwood! She and her family have thoroughly enjoyed the welcoming community, outdoor activities, and local shops.

With 17 years of experience working full-time in sports medicine rehabilitation and part-time at Le Scandinave Spa in Blue Mountain, she has now turned her attention to building her own home clinic!

"I love my job as a Registered Massage Therapist and strive to provide my clients with the best treatment tailored specifically to their needs. My extensive experience includes working with surgical recovery, sports injuries, and repetitive stress injuries while also promoting relaxation, reducing stress, and alleviating muscle soreness."

"Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live." ~ Jim Rohn

  • Massage therapy employs a variety of manual techniques aimed at manipulating the soft tissues of the body, including muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, and connective tissues. These techniques, which can range from gentle strokes to deep tissue manipulation, are designed to promote physiological benefits such as reducing pain, enhancing mobility, and encouraging overall relaxation. Clinical studies have shown that massage can improve circulation and lymphatic drainage, which aids in the reduction of inflammation and promotes healing lymphatic flow in conditions like chronic back pain and fibromyalgia. Additionally, the mechanical pressure applied during massage stimulates the nervous system, facilitating the release of neurotransmitters such as endorphins and serotonin while lowering cortisol levels, thereby alleviating symptoms of stress and anxiety. This multifaceted approach makes massage therapy a valuable complementary treatment option for various musculoskeletal disorders, enhancing both physical functionality and emotional well-being.
